Due to overwhelming support from the local Philadelphia community, Shoot For A Cause, a Philadelphia-based non-profit, will be hosting their second Shoot For Haiti benefit on February 27th, 2010 between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. at 1241 Carpenter St., Philadelphia, PA 19147 to help raise money for the earthquake victims of Haiti. During the Shoot for Haiti benefit, participants are offered a photoshoot session for the low cost of $50 per session. Each session will include either a family/group portrait or one outfit personal shoot. Professional makeup services will also be offered and are included in the $50 session. Such packages are usually valued at over $300. “Unfortunately, our February 6th Shoot For Haiti benefit was affected by the historic snow storm,” said Jasen Hudson, co-founder of Shoot For A Cause. “We had two participants who walked more than two miles just to participate in the event and truly show their giving spirit. We wanted to give a second opportunity for those who were stranded by the extreme weather conditions and for those who have since heard about the event and want to participate.” The American Red Cross will be co-hosting the event and will be receiving 100% of all donations. In light of recent natural disasters, both locally and abroad, Shoot For A Cause was formed by a group of Philadelphia photographers and makeup artists to raise relief funds for both national and international issues resulting in suffering or hardship. The concept of the organization is to provide photography or makeup services at a very low set rate, or accept donations, of which the funds are then given to the American Red Cross or other well established, non-profit organizations involved in providing support to those in need. A growing list of sponsors for Shoot For Haiti include the American Red Cross, Blu Lotus Public Relations, DVS Photography, EMG STUDIOS, Glamourville Studios, Jasen Hudson Photography, Mike Pierce Photography, Paragon Creative Group, Rae Sin Professional Makeup Artist and Robin Lynette Professional Makeup Artist.
