Due to overwhelming support from the local Philadelphia community, Shoot For A Cause, a Philadelphia-based non-profit, will be hosting their second Shoot For Haiti benefit on February 27th, 2010 between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. at 1241 Carpenter St., Philadelphia, PA 19147 to help raise money for the earthquake victims of Haiti.

During the Shoot for Haiti benefit, participants are offered a photoshoot session for the low cost of $50 per session.  Each session will include either a family/group portrait or one outfit personal shoot.  Professional makeup services will also be offered and are included in the $50 session.  Such packages are usually valued at over $300.

“Unfortunately, our February 6th Shoot For Haiti benefit was affected by the historic snow storm,” said Jasen Hudson, co-founder of Shoot For A Cause. “We had two participants who walked more than two miles just to participate in the event and truly show their giving spirit.  We wanted to give a second opportunity for those who were stranded by the extreme weather conditions and for those who have since heard about the event and want to participate.”

The American Red Cross will be co-hosting the event and will be receiving 100% of all donations.

In light of recent natural disasters, both locally and abroad, Shoot For A Cause was formed by a group of Philadelphia photographers and makeup artists to raise relief funds for both national and international issues resulting in suffering or hardship.

The concept of the organization is to provide photography or makeup services at a very low set rate, or accept donations, of which the funds are then given to the American Red Cross or other well established, non-profit organizations involved in providing support to those in need.

A growing list of sponsors for Shoot For Haiti include the American Red Cross, Blu Lotus Public Relations, DVS Photography, EMG STUDIOS, Glamourville Studios, Jasen Hudson Photography, Mike Pierce Photography, Paragon Creative Group, Rae Sin Professional Makeup Artist and Robin Lynette Professional Makeup Artist.

Shoot 3

Despite the major snowstorm that pounded Philadelphia, Shoot For A Cause, a Philadelphia-based non-profit, hosted a benefit, Shoot For Haiti, on Saturday, February 6th to help raise money for the earthquake victims of Haiti.

During the Shoot for Haiti benefit, participants were offered a photoshoot for the low cost of $50 per session. Each session included either a family/group portrait or one outfit personal shoot. Professional makeup services were also included in the $50 session. Such packages are usually valued at over $300.

A number of people came to participate in the event and help volunteer to ensure its success. Two individuals with a scheduled photoshoot truly showed the giving spirit when they decided to walk more than two miles in the snowstorm to donate money and participate in the event.

“This is a great cause,” said Robin Chism, professional makeup artist. “Although we are having horrible weather right now, it’s nothing compared to what those in Haiti are experiencing.”

The American Red Cross co-hosted the event and received 100% of all donations.

“Shoot For A Cause wants to provide support to those affected by natural disaster tragedies while reinstating the importance of what it means to lend a helping hand,” said Jasen Hudson, co-founder of Shoot For A Cause. “We have received such an overwhelming response from tri-state area businesses and the Philadelphia community regarding our first benefit, Shoot for Haiti, and would like to thank them all for their support.”

The Shoot For Haiti list of sponsors included the American Red Cross, Blu Lotus Public Relations, DVS Photography, EMG STUDIOS, Glamourville Studios, Jasen Hudson Photography, Mike Pierce Photography, Paragon Creative Group, Rae Sin Professional Makeup Artist and Robin Lynette Professional Makeup Artist.

Due to the overwhelming support received from the Philadelphia community and the horrible weather conditions that affected the event, Shoot For A Cause will be planning another Shoot For Haiti benefit in the upcoming months. For more information, please visit www.shootforacause.org.
